One of the facts many folks find most interesting about Hazle Township, is that the municipality completely surrounds the city of Hazleton in all directions. This unique feature provides the nearly 10,000 residents easy access to all the amenities of the central city within just a five or ten minute drive. From the hustle and bustle of Hazleton, its just another short ride back to the quiet, residential neighborhoods of the township.
Many of the regions largest employers are located within the two large industrial parks, which are located on the outer edges of Hazle Twp. Approximately half of the Valmont Industrial Park is in Hazle Township, with the remainder in West Hazleton, which is easily accessed from State Route 93. The sprawling Humboldt Industrial Park is located on both sides of State Rt 924 and is the largest park in our area, employing over 7,000 people. Both parks are conveniently located near Interstate 81.
The area is served by the Greater Hazleton Area School District, with the high school, vocational school and one of the elementary schools being located here, as well. Continuing education opportunities are many, including the Hazleton Campus of Penn State University, as well as a bevy of community colleges in and around the area.

Moving on to some other interesting data, according to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 45.3 square miles (117.4 km2), of which 45.1 square miles (116.7 km2) is land and 0.27 square miles (0.7 km2), or 0.59%, is water. It is drained by tributaries of the Susquehanna River except in the southeast, which drains to the Lehigh River. Its villages include Beaver Brook, Drifton, Ebervale, Green Ridge, Harleigh, Harwood, Hollywood, Humboldt, Japan, Jeanesville, Lattimer, Milnesville, Oakdale, Pardeesville, and Stockton.
